The Definition of Hallyu Day!
‘Hallyu’ is a term referring to a global phenomenon where Korean pop culture gains a lot of popularity in Southeast Asia including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia, and the United States and Europe.
‘Hallyu’ is pronounced as ‘韩流 Hanliu’ in Chinese, and is translated into ‘Korean Wave(K-Wave)’ in English. It has a symbolic value representing the country along with Kimchi and Taekwondo.
Hallyu has allowed the country to gain a lot of attention and popularity from the world, and it’s not just limited to the pop culture, instead it has been extended to the popularity of made-in Korea products including clothing, food, shoes, bags, cosmetics, cell phones, and electronic products.
So we planned ‘Hallyu Day’ with an objective of providing Korean products that represent the country at reasonable prices.
It is a newly invented shopping day based on a new concept, and it lasts from Friday in the third week of every November to the following Monday.
Its date is selected to be in between China Single Day and Black Friday as it is considered to be the most ideal time for shopping. In 2015, it will be taken place from November 20 to 22.
We expect a lot of attention from shoppers around the world including China and US. Those who are interested in the Hallyu Day, please contact us regardless of your location. Especially, we expect contact from China which we believe is the most passionate Korean pop culture lover.
We also welcome active participation of Hallyu Day planners and investors, so that Hallyu Day can be one of the world’s shopping days along with China Singles Day, Black Friday, and Boxing Day.
